The Complete Works of Oscar Wilde (Collins Classics)

What a wit this young man had! For humor my favorite is "The Importance of Being Ernest." Mr. Wilde pokes so much fun at anything and everything that you could read the same page several times and still come up with something humorus that you hadn't noticed before. For food for thought there is "The Portrait of Dorian Gray" that leaves one wondering what a portrait of one's own thought life and inner self would really look like. It is a chilling tale and one which we saw illustrated in the painting by the same name in the Art Institute of Chicago last year.

E.M. Forster Three Complete Novels Howards End, A Room With a View, Where Angels Fear to Tread

My favorite of the three novels included in this volume is "Room with a View." I always read the other two first and save it for the last. I love the dry humor with which E.M. Forster writes telling descriptions about each character and the understated way passion is addressed which really makes it all the hotter.
